Welcome to the SmartAlarmShop

The Smart Alarm advantage:

With so many of today's requirements within the home or office revolving around whether you are present or not, it is vital to incorporate the correct alarm system. The modern alarm of today can be readily integrated with other products and offers a high level of added functionality.

The Cytech product range is a well established function rich automation system. Its prime aim is to function as an alarm but it can act as the central processor for a vast number of other activities. One of the many features of the system is that it incorporates a built in telephone interface allowing the installer to provide end-user access to and from the property by means of cleverly constructed programmable voice menus.

  • Integration with other automation systems
  • Remote access by end user or installer
  • Vast range of additional functionality
  • Built in (programmable) telephone menu: answer machine: messages
  • Basic level equipment includes remote dial out / dial in in the event of a break in: doorphone activation: power cut: telephone line cut
  • Random switching of lights / curtains when the property is vacated
  • Live access to system in the event of an alarm activation
  • Set back of lighting and heating when property is vacated or individual rooms (with motion sensors) are vacated
  • Door or gate operation from keypads: internal phone: remote phone

Cytech and KNX

The Cytech product range includes an interface (UCM/KNX) to allow direct communication between Cytech and KNX. Simply wire the EIB bus into the UCM, use Cytech's programmable software Comfigurator to add the UCM into the Cytech system and you are ready to start programming.

To add value to your installation, here are some useful interactions that can be readily programmed. The alarms movement sensors can be used to trigger events when there is NO movement, so for example when there is NO movement in a room for say 1 hour then switch lights on KNX light circuit off (click here for more details and download). Alternatively you may want to dim the circuits by 50% every hour or switch a scene or switch all lights off.

The Cytech door phone will ring your internal telephones so that you can answer the door from the internal phone. However if you are on your way to the front door, then you will not want the phone to continue ringing once you have received your guest. Cytech response programming allows you to create a response that stops the telephone ringer. (click here for more details and download). Place this response in a movement sensor or hallway door contact on response.

It may be that you want the KNX system to activate a Comfort activity like switching the alarm on. This is achieved by the use of counters within the Comfigurator program.

Interfaces to other devices

A variety of Universal Communications Modules (UCM's) exist to provide flexibility in system design. The Comfigurator program will allow direct programming of commands to these devices. Interfaces available to: Smartfit, CBUS, KNX, Ulti, Dynalite, Rako & Lutron.

In addition to this UCM's exist for:

  • Learning, transmitting and receiving IR commands (UCM/IR)
  • Allowing the Comfort voice to be played on an external powered speaker or PC and to allow intercom and recording functions from a PC running software like WizComfort (UCM/Audio)
  • Allowing the Comfort system to be connected to a Local Area Network (UCM/Ethernet)

Cytech and KNX optimise your heating

What better than to have your heating automatically set back whenever you arm your security system? More than this, the combination of Cytech and KNX (using Theben, Gira or Siemens timers and thermostats) allows you to set back heating at night or place on frost protect if you are away on business or holiday.

If you need to put the heating on again before you return, the built in Cytech telephone voice menu will allow your customer to do just that.

Potential benefits of a correctly designed system

  • Unlimited number of heating zones using underfloor valves or TRV (thermostatic radiator valves).
  • Automated control from different alarm settings.
  • Remote dial in access to alter temperature before returning.
  • Individual thermostats with individual control; At home - zone temperature depends on dial reading: Standby - 2 degrees below dial setting: Night - 4 degrees below dial setting: Frost protect - fixed value say 5 deg C.
  • Optional floor limit available.
  • Timed programs to switch between thermostat modes during the day.
